भारत कई राज भाषाओं और लिपियों से समृद्ध देश है। यहां कई सारी भाषाएं बोली जाती हैं। देश के आधे से ज्यादा भाग को हिंदी भाषा ही जोड़ती है। भले ही अंग्रेजी का प्रचलन बढ़ गया हो लेकिन हिंदी अधिकतर भारतीयों की मातृभाषा है। हालांकि भारत में हिंदी को राष्ट्रभाषा का दर्जा नहीं मिला है लेकिन राजभाषा के तौर पर हिंदी की खास पहचान है। भारत के साथ ही विदेशों में बसे भारतीयों को भी हिन्दी भाषा ही एकजुट करती है। हिंदी हिंदुस्तान की पहचान भी है और गौरव भी। हिंदी दुनिया भर में 26 करोड़ से अधिक लोगों द्वारा बोली जाने वाली एक इंडो-आर्यन भाषा है । यह दुनिया की चौथी सबसे अधिकबोली जाने वाली भाषा है। यह भारत सरकार की राजकीय भाषा है और अंग्रेजी के साथ भारत की दो आधिकारिक भाषाओं में से एक है। इतिहास पहला हिंदी दिवस सम्मेलन 10 जनवरी 1974 को महाराष्ट्र के नागपुर में आयोजित हुआ था। यह सम्मेलन अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर का था, जिसमें ३० देशों के 122 प्रतिनिधि शामिल हुए थे। इस सम्मेलन का उद्देश्य हिंदी का प्रसार-प्रचार करना था। तब से विश्व हिंदी दिवस इसी तारीख यानी 10 जनवरी को मनाया जाने लगा। बाद में यूरोपीय देश नार्वे के भारतीय दूतावास ने पहली बार विश्व हिंदी दिवसमनाया था। इसके बाद से भारत समेत संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका, यूनाइटेड किंगडम, मॉरीशस, त्रिनिदाद और टोबैगो जैसे विभिन्न देशों मेंविश्व हिंदी सम्मेलन का आयोजन किया गया । विश्व हिंदी दिवस पहली बार 10 जनवरी, 2006 को मनाया गया था । इसके बाद सेहर साल 10 जनवरी को विश्व हिंदी दिवस मनाया जाने लगा । वहीं भारत में हिंदी दिवस 14 सितंबर को होता है। चलिए हम भी हिन्दी का गुणगान करें , भावनाओं को जो समझ समझा सके , ऐसी भाषा का सम्मान करें ।
