My eyes were heavy, hardly could open probably because of the high dose of sedatives administered. I vividly remember the date, time, how can any mother forget? 14 th May2009, I could hear from my doctor I was blessed with a healthy baby girl.

Now the moment of becoming first time mother is special for all of us. But my story was different to be precise “difficult”.

I had cervical incompetency, a medical condition in which preterm labor is very common. My first child ( born in 29 weeks) lost her battle just 4 hours after birth. It was a horrified experience, my tears dried, I was petrified, could not bear the loss of my first child, went to deep depression. I was left in extreme agony, the scars of motherhood was there but the cot was empty.

But psychological counselling helped me. In this tough phase of my life one person was there,my hubby, my best friend was like a pillar for me.

We  conceived again . This time we decided to do the entire checkup in Bokaro General Hospital since my husband was posted in Bokaro at that time. The team of Doctors were like Gods in white aprons. Dr. Saraswati Mohanty, Dr. Rita Hasda, Dr. Anita. I vividly remember their care , effort.

The courage they gave, the assurance was beyond imagination and yes this time, ”We won the battle.”

With proper medicines and endless care of my doctors I got the most precious gift of God, my one and only daughter. Even after 13 long years I bow down to these doctors who were for me like God in disguise.
