Movie Review : Gulmohar

When you finally get a treat on this festival of colours, “ Gulmohar” , it’s actually meant to be. A movie which I began to watch because of the title and of course Manoj Bajpayee but gradually it kept giving me reasons to continue watching.

That melodious and nostalgic start of “ Dilkash” by gazal maestro Sri Talat Aziz was definitely the kick towards the most memorable journey leaving behind some beautiful insights. A polished creation with the most crafted, creative and carved actors who were meant to be together to deliver the most wonderful cinematic experience.

“Gulmohar” a tree with beautiful flowers, also known as the flame of the forest, with bright and intense, watered less but trimmed at regular intervals to make it, what it looks like. The movie too revolves around the common phenomenon of regularly working well on relationships. The smooth flow of story, with no drama and intense emotions instead just the right amount of everything, what it actually required. How the smoothness, love, complains reached to doubts, disheartening decisions leading turbulence, one hardly expected but the best part of it all was the flow, sincerity and commitment towards the emotions this all required which was brilliantly delivered too.

The vivid write up and direction reflects as heartfelt as its cerebral. A movie that tugs your heartstrings with beautiful quotes and one liners. Definitely a must watch. The movie’s soundtrack is full of melodious music and the Holi song ” Holi mein” totally deserves to be the theme song of the year.
