The Magical Pencil Hotel

Once upon a time, I planted a pencil in the ground and something magical grew…

It was a pencil-stalk. Like a beanstalk, it had pencils instead of leaves. Not like the pencils you write with—but huge pencils, as big as a room! There was one in front of me which was small and in the shape of a key. I plucked it out and noticed a hole in the pencil-stalk. I pushed the key into the pencil-stalk and turned it. The pencil-stalk’s first green layer opened to reveal a lift that could go up to 952 floors!

I went inside, and I was greeted by a robot named ROBO 7536. ROBO 7536 took me to floor number 952, and as the lift opened, I felt dizzy—I was higher than the clouds!

I soon got to know that this was a hotel and I would be staying here till the end. This hotel stay was great! There were robots as staff, an entire built-in waterpark and swimming pool. It had a variety of colourful rooms, just like the pencils we buy from a stationery shop. I could never have imagined that one pencil could grow so huge…

When I looked down from the window, my heart sank—I suddenly felt like I was skydiving. I wished I could stay a little longer, but someone shook me so hard that I woke up from my dreams.

It was my mom, who was screaming, “Anaisha, get up! It’s time to go to school!”
