Navratri Shots: “Invincible” Poems and Stories | Nine Days Nine Smuses

Navratri is not just a festival—it’s a time to recognize the courage and invincibility within us.
On Day 2, we gave the theme “Invincible,” and here are some of the selected poems and stories submitted by our writers, celebrating strength, fearlessness, and determination.

I learn to breathe,
I learn to take one day at a time,
I let go convincing others,
I leave everything behind.

No drama, no chaos, no confusion,
The intention is crystal clear now,
I’m worth every blessing She freely gifts me,
I’m a reflection of Her feminine energy,
She adores me as Her favourite child.

Why should I then underestimate myself?
It’s taking time for evolution, it has to be steady and superb.
And now when triggers fall flat,
With my silence and wide smile,
I feel grateful for the invincible joy,
I’m creating for myself each moment, each day.

— Amrita Mallik

2.

She’s bold! She’s strong!
She’s grace personified all along!
Quietly she walks with humility to bond.
When wronged, she’s a fireball rolling headlong!

An embodiment of ‘Shakti’ or strength!
Don’t underestimate her feminine essence.
She can transform to retaliate at once,
Any tormentor or a pervert riding on offence.

A personification of Maa Kali! She’s a formidable feminine energy!
When provoked beyond rationality,
She fights back to retain her individuality.

O Lady of intelligence and calibre!
O Woman of indefatigable power!
O Mother of patience and prudence ever!
You remain, INVINCIBLE, forever!

— Shakuntala Kanakagiri

She reacted with poise at every fall,
From shattered glass, she built a fortress tall.
Bruised and battered, but she never bowed,
She rose even above the darkest cloud.

She has seen storms and stood without fear,
Confronted all the whispers without a tear.
Her heart has known the deepest pain,
But she has learnt to bloom and thrive in rain.

They thought she is soft, full of gentle grace,
But never saw the fire etched in her pace.
She is the truth that cannot be ignored anymore,
A girl with invincible spirit inside her core.

— Navita Goel

4.

Open the closed portals of limitations the world has imposed upon you.
Spread your wings of innate possibilities and powers.
You are boundless and infinite in potential.

Awake, arise, and shine.
You are a shining star, unstoppable in your light.
Let your inner radiance unveil the darkness.
You are courageous, feisty, resolute.
You are a creator, nurturer, and a life-giving force.
Your spirit soars—invincible.

— Anju Gilotra

5.

When a fall is highly inevitable,
And rising up feels hard and impossible,
When there is no helping hand at the table,
And success is too far from visible.

Hey friend, just start from what is available,
Move on, life is a huge pressure bubble!
Keep pushing, make it adjustable,
Accept from others what is advisable.

Compose yourself, shine, get more admirable!
Work hard on the deficits, one day it will get bearable.
Polish the better, portray the best till it’s acceptable.
Prove to yourself, not just to others who babble,
That you are IN(win)VINCIBLE!

— Vanishree Venugopal (Pushkasmom Smule)

6.

She wears her armour of invincibility,
Her strength is her fortitude.
Traverses through the fragile threads of time,
Like a shining pearl, she forges onwards through strife and struggle.

Her undying zeal carries her across turbulent waves,
Resilience, her crowning glory.
She emerges victorious in an undaunted stride.

— Vandana Ashok Kumar

Aparna was passionate about basketball, football, and athletics since childhood. She represented her district and state in championships.
Fate caused a tragic accident, resulting in the amputation of her legs below the knees.
With resilience and perseverance, she rebuilt her life and became a trained athlete.

Today, as her father’s treasured pocket watch ticked in his palm, Aparna crossed the finish line, becoming the first Paralympic athlete to clinch gold at the Paralympics.

— Payal Biswas

Invincibility! Aalia was born with this extraordinary gift.
A beacon of hope for war-inflicted cities,
Neither weapons nor challenges could suppress her.

Aalia’s soothing touch healed deep wounds,
Her presence stopped conflicts, comforted the weak, and inspired the young.
With fierce determination, she vowed to protect all mankind.

Aalia was a legend. Fearless, compassionate, and truly invincible.

— Swati Mohandas
