A letter to Bloom, Maa and Bliss

Author: Aditi Lahiry

Dear Bloom , Ma and Bliss I write a letter to all three of us today. Do you know why I write this letter to us? It is to remind that we all are unique and have our own strengths. We should be proud of our achievements.

But first, I begin with myself, my dear Bloom. I know life has not been very blissful for you always but the strength that you have displayed by not giving up and making a strong comeback , makes you a woman who stands to inspire . Right from the day , you had to step down from the offer of working as a lecturer in the same college you have studied in order to get married , to quitting many school jobs for undergoing treatments ,you have faced challenges but the best part is , you have never given up . That is the reason , I admire you Bloom. You have picked up freelancing and have moulded many children . Being associated with children has taught you many important life lessons. Moreover I am happy that you have started penning your thoughts . You have been writing for various anthologies and contributing your stories, poems and articles for various journals . You have been winning many accolades too. Hats off to your patience , dedication and determination , may you guide many others . May you shape many lives.

The second woman whom I choose to write to is none other than Mrs Pranata Ray , my mother, a harbinger of great hope ,a great teacher and a wonderful friend. I write to you Ma to let you know that I am blessed to be born as your child. The life lessons of never give up which you have taught us is absolutely precious. Your journey from Kolkata to Ramagudam is something that can stand as a lesson of strength and will power for every woman who is afraid of accepting change . It was you who taught us that with will power anything can be achieved . You did not join any job to raise Bliss and me , but I am sure if you could have joined you would have been an excellent teacher and a guide. Although you were a little strict while raising me , I feel happy to have been brought up by your strict upbringing  because that is what has made me a strong woman today. Thank you abundantly Ma for everything.

The third woman whom I admire most in my life is my sister , Debarchita Banerjee. Dear Bliss ,you have been the true symbol of happiness. You are a woman with your own independent mind. You never give up . Inspite of facing several challenges in both personal and professional life ,have shown immense strength to make a comeback . You are now settled in Brno , Chez Republic post marriage . You have travelled over most part of Europe and Turkey and visited Ice_ Land too , all by yourself . It has all been possible because of your strong will power and a strong belief in yourself . I am extremely proud of you for being my sister . You have been my greatest support and friend after Ma.

Thank you for being there Dear Bloom, Ma and Bliss.

Yours Aditi….
