Communication in relationships

#Communication

Laura Guerrero rightly said that, ‘Relationships cannot exist unless two people communicate with each other.’

Communication is arguably what makes or breaks any relationship. It is the key for the development and maintenance of any association. Good communication can lead to a deeper connection and increased intimacy in one’s relationship. Without it, trust, conflict resolution and other important elements of a connection become difficult or even impossible. Lack of good communication gives rise to misunderstandings.

Improving communication in your relationship usually takes time and effort. Effective communication is one way to foster a positive, supportive relationship with your partner. When you actively listen and respond to your partner, both of you are more likely to feel valued and cared for. This can have a beneficial impact on your overall well-being.

Relationship magic happens when couples learn how to listen to each other with empathy during tense discussions.

** Few tips to have an effective communication :

1. Build trust : Trust is the safe feeling that enables you to be vulnerable with another person without fear of judgement, abandonment or betrayal.

2. Listen deeply : Try to hear what the other person is saying without letting your own judgements get in the way. By listening to them with an open mind and giving your full attention is the best way to show your friends, family or partner how much you care.

3. Express yourself : Sharing your feelings isn’t always easy, but others would begin to understand you better if you express yourself freely.

4. Manage conflict : Conflicts can be managed with clear and open communication, mutual respect and a commitment to resolution.

To Sum it up my point of view is communicating well isn’t a guarantee for a happy relationship, however good communication skills enhance relationships and well-being in a number of ways. Any healthy relationship requires a healthy communication.
