The saree wrapped brings a breeze of memories. I started wearing it right from the ninth standard. In South Indian families, salwar kurta wasn’t in vogue. My first experience was horrible—draping six yards and going to school, as there wasn’t a uniform culture. Somehow, I managed. The gazes of my classmates are something I can never forget.

Colorful sarees in the closet are the prettiest sight,
Tight pleats and a wavy pallu look graceful and bright.
Subtle or fancy, sarees always help a woman bloom,
Draping her in shyness while adding an extra oomph

The perfect drape conveys my classic swag,Every unique fold holds my tradition’s exquisite hashtags.
Each magnificent color and border radiates my culture and rituals.
When elegance is amalgamated with self-confidence,
A lively tale is created at a glance.

Like the mind that flows undeterred,The folds of the sari unfold,
Enhancing the inner beauty and elegance.
The pride of India that I drape with love,
The sari, my favorite attire of all.

Being a person of soft colors, heaps of self-doubt popped up every time I saw the ‘bright red silk saree’ lying so welcoming inside the bureau.
On Diwali, as I decorated Maa Parvati, a fresh energy sprouted. I adorned the six-yard bright red saree and felt bold and powerful. The Shakti that came from within vanquished my doubts! YES, sarees are magical!

Ethereal elegance unfolds,
In silken folds, she gracefully holds,
A saree’s gentle, flowing sway,
Adorns her beauty in every way .
With every drape, a story’s spun,
Of tradition, culture, forever won,
Be it aging ma or a young bride
Six yards is every woman’s pride

The elegance of six yards
Woven in myriad patterns
Draped in great fineness
Makes every woman gracious
Holding the cocooning warmth
Filled with pure bliss and love
The timeless fashion
And a most beautiful attire
That refuses to retire.

She laughs, she cries, flies or shies,
every expression is mured in six yards folds,
A fable of bygone eras or some
motley crotchety yet untold
Pristine or modern, emphatic maiden or quaint generic
Saree saga is a parchment of women’s intimate tales, melancholic or euphoric.

Six yards of drape,And years of culture, values,
And it fits all shapes.
A divine look with grace,
My mom’s memory
And her fragrance I carry in my sari.
My first sari drape, a step towards change,
From a bubbly girl to a woman.
In today’s world of under-drape,
Our beautiful traditions and the smell of jasmine,
Is my tribute to our woven heritage, oh my love for the saree.
– Soma Mukherjee
Draping myself in six yards is like embellishing grace, poise, and elegance with oodles of love and care.
It showcases the best in me, twinning up confidence and serenity.

A saree is the best drape any woman can wear. It is graceful and enhances her beauty. There are many ways to drape a saree. The nine yards we wore during our marriage, when the mangal sutra is tied, give a great feeling—an emotional bond with your husband.
