#AzaadiKaAmritMahotsava #HarGharTiranga

Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence.

Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building.

The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.

The Tiranga should be hoisted on 13th to 15th of August.

But before Hoisting our National Flag, keep the Do’s and Don’t in mind:

  1. The Flag should occupy the position of honour and should be distinctly placed.
  2. When placed with any other flag, the tricolour should be at the highest or at the same level as any other flag there.
  3. When flown horizontally Saffron should be at the top and when vertically Saffron band should be on the right in reference to the flag.
  4. Never display a damaged Flag.
  5. It must never touch the ground or drown in water.
  6. No form of Text should be written on the Flag.
  7. It must not be used to drape anything or anyone ( Except state or military funerals ).
  8. The flag should not be dipped in salute or used as festoon, rosette.
  9. It must not be worn in a costume or accessory worn below the waist of any person. It should also not be printed on the cushions, handkerchiefs, undergarments.

How to Fold our National Flag:

Step 1 : Place the National Flag horizontally.
Step 2 : Fold the green and saffron bands, under the white band.
Step 3. While folding the white band finally, make sure the Ashok chakra is visible.
Step 4: Carry the folded band on your palms and arms to store it.
