IF….

If I could visit the wave lapping shores again,

If we were young again, with renewed hopes,

If we could catch the sequins shining on waves, and bead them into a necklace of vibrance of life.

If only, the lost hours could be made to wait,

If only change could foster rising tides of hope,

If only nether could be uplifted to heavens,

If only love could replace hatred, to spread calm.

If only time could be a bright star in heavens, to lead and foretell.

If only shimmering visages of help, could transform into reality!

IF and BUT were riding together on an old bicycle,

IF asked “BUT”, “What will you gift me for my birthday”?”

If I gift you a car will you ever ride this bicycle again”,asked BUT,

IF smiled and said, “No ways my sweetheart, this is old and tiring,

If I had a car I would have more respect in society”,

IF added, owning a car is a hustle free drive from all types of pollution,”

IF my friend, but we are pursuing Buddhist ideology…

If we too get engulfed by macrocosmic avarice, then we can never attain ‘Nirvana'”, said BUT,

IF immediately apologized as his friend just saved him from getting caught in a storm.

If I could wish upon a star,I’d ask heavens to send you back to me.

If wishes were horses, I’d turn back time.

If I could fly, I’d disappear to Neverland

If I had a crystal ball, I’d find you and seek you.

If I could slide down a rainbow, I’d get that lucky pot of gold.

If I had the power, I’d make Earth blue and green again.

If dreams could come true, I would want to stay there forever with you.

If regrets and sorrows could be forgotten, I’d want a fresh restart.

If only I knew where you are, right now…

If I were the embodiment of Shailaputri, my happiness wouldn’t be destroyed by patriarchal beliefs.

If I were the embodiment of Maa Durga, my growth wouldn’t be stunted, my decisions not doubted.

If I were the embodiment of Chandraghanta, my tenacity wouldn’t be perceived otherwise.

If I were the embodiment of Kushmanda, my orange glow wouldn’t have faded with depleting energy.

If I were the embodiment of Skandmata, my purity would never be questioned, virginity wouldn’t be a necessity.

If I were the embodiment of Katyayani, I wouldn’t allow the imbecilic to destroy my virtue mercilessly.

If I were the embodiment of Kaalratri, I would destroy all those who would taint my soul.

If I were the embodiment of Mahagauri, my presence wouldn’t be cast an omen

If I were the embodiment of Siddhidatri, my dreams wouldn’t be crushed under archaic hoofs.

If I could alleviate poverty, no child would sleep hungry

If I could reduce pollution, the atmosphere would be more green

If I could curb corruption, the world would be a better place to live in

If I could clean souls, our places would be safe to survive

If I could ensure equality, then there would be no fight over resources

If I could remove inhumanity, then we will witness more compassion

If I could lessen people’s gloom, then happiness will prevail

If I could help everyone, then stability would be seen in our society

If all of my wishes come true, then will disappear all my blues.

If only I could turn the time on clock

If only I could again visit the old block

If only the moments were here to stay

If only my days would be as per my say

If only I could bring back those whom I lost

If only I would get that chance at any costIf only I could hide the pain I feel

If only I could help the world to healIf only my heart I could easily deal.

Amishi Paras Kapasi

If only I could fly to the fairyland

If only I could re-live my childhood

If only I had a chance to reminisce the memories again

If only I could go back to those olden days of happiness and laughter

If only I could break all the shackles and chains around me

If only I could say bye bye to the sham customs of the society

If only I had a chance to buy a chance to live a day as I want

If only I could feel the gust of fresh air around me

If only I could embrace the warmth of loved ones
