Jee Karda Review – Why do they lack substance?#Review

Reviewer : Avni Rahul Katakkar

Cast – Tamanaah Bhatia, Suhail Nayyar, Aashim Gulati, Anya Singh, Sayan Banerjee, Hussain Dalal, Simone Singh, Samvedna Suwalka, Malhar Thakkar

Director – Arunima Sharma

OTT – Amazon prime

Episodes – 8

Arunima Sharma’s “Jee Karda” is a turbulent story about 7 childhood friends, though the story looks much of a fantasy world.

It is absolutely refreshing to watch the cool bond between these 7 friends, there casual brawls and confrontations. Their friendship paints myriad hues of human emotions – may it be the affection, the envy , the trust issues or the intimacy.

The series tries up take up poignant issues such as child abuse, inferiority complex , LGBTQ and unnecessarily complicated marriages, but the dearth of good screenplay spoils the substance.

At many points, you might realise that you are watching parts of “Veere Di Wedding” or “4 more shots please”. I mean, everyone is rich, sex is hyped and emotions are on stake. There are more steamy scenes than a great content in the series.

Though, very honestly, the 8 episodes of this series won’t plunge you in boredom, you would only sway in a wonderland, with happiness and perplexity at the same time. The series would make you ponder as to why is adjustment in any relationship so difficult?

The series also got highlighted because of the racy scenes by Tamanaah Bhatia, but trust me, they aren’t as provocative as most of the reviews tell.

Watch it and let me know in the comments how you liked it…

Overall “Jee Karda” is certainly a one time good watch, entertaining it is, but do not expect logic out of it.
