On Day 8 of our #NineDaysNineMuses Navratri journey, the theme is Love. These poems and stories celebrate love in its many forms — tender, divine, hidden, and powerful — reminding us that love is both nurturing and fearless.
Poem: Love’s True Form
Love is not what the world depicts,
Glossy and smooth ever.
It resides in every heart, quiet and cool,
Like the Divine feminine love,
Forever gentle and nurturing.
It’s not vendible nor under control,
Yet, a destroyer and warrior right on time,
Akin to the Shakti who is always watching.
— Amrita Mallik
Poem: The Colour of Love
How do we define love — the all-encompassing emotion!
Omnipresent in the devoted heart,
All-giving in the nurturer’s embrace,
Surrendering in amour’s exchange,
Passionate in the fire of romance,
Pure in the eyes of friendship,
Committed in a long-cherished relation,
Valorous in patriotic fervour,
Cherishable in the bond of siblings,
Unconditional in a mother’s tender touch!
Love: an amalgamation of colours in a single light!
— Anwesha Bhattacharya
Poem: A Mother’s Love
A divine bond that’s so pure,
Through trials, it’s unshaken and secure.
An affection that never fades,
In each moment and every shade.
When faith shatters, hope seems gone,
A voice guides within you to carry on.
In your breath and silent prayers,
A mother’s love is always there.
— Pragyan Parimita Nanda
Story: A Silent Gift of Love
Prem’s heart leapt with joy when his name was announced for the drawing competition. But the 500-rupee fee crushed him. “Too much,” Daddy said. Later, his teacher revealed that his stepmother, Glory, had quietly paid. Prem finally understood: love can be hidden, yet shown in its purest form — like a silent gift.
