Summer Bliss in the Hills: A Family Escape to Manali

Person with mule on a sunny trail in Manali, surrounded by lush greenery and snow-capped peaks.

After the cool months till March, the hot season starts, and people plan to visit some cooler hilly places for respite from the scorching heat. April is just the beginning, but in some states, schools are closed for summer, so planning to select the destination and booking the hotels is looked into.

In India, there are a lot of hill stations in different states in the North and in the South. People select according to their budget and plan.

Excitement of Planning

The whole family is excited, and the elders and the children start giving their plans as to what to do and enjoy.

Excitement of Packing

Yes, packing time is a major confusion. Everyone gives their opinion. Rahul, the youngest in the family, shouts, “I want my cricket kit to be packed.”

His elder sister chirps in, “I want my gungroos to be packed, and I would dance amongst the hills.”

The parents are amused to see their childish behaviour, and they help them pack their bags.

Together, they joyfully boarded the plane, and off they went to enjoy the hills of Manali. The kids were flying for the first time and enjoyed watching out of the window—the scene outside and the clouds hovering. The parents were happy to see their children enjoying themselves.

They reached their hotel and relaxed for a while. They were happy to see a comfortable hotel room and were more excited to look at the hills—snow-clad, a lot of trees around, and beautiful new birds chirping in different voices.

The hotel had arranged a cab for them to roam around Manali. They had a good dinner and slept well, dreaming of the next day’s sightseeing.

Sightseeing on the Roads of Manali

The next day, the children got up without coaxing and were ready. After breakfast at the hotel, they started to venture out to enjoy the Manali trip.

They went on a trek and had great fun. Clicked photos. They shopped for their friends. They played cricket. The daughter could dance to her heart’s content, watching the snow and beautiful surroundings.

They discussed the day’s activities and enjoyed watching the photos clicked. They had dinner after planning for the next day.

Rohtang Pass

They planned to visit Solang, known for its scenic beauty and adventure activities like paragliding and skiing (seasonal).

They also visited Jogini Waterfall, Bhrigu Lake, and some famous temples.

Being away from the Mumbai heat, they were enjoying their life together. Tasting the delicacies of that hilly region was a pleasure.

Once on the way to sightseeing, the children met their friends and—lo!

The more, the merrier—and luckily, their friends’ family was staying in a nearby hotel.

The children played cricket together, enjoyed indoor games, and Radha’s dance was good entertainment for all. They watched a movie and discussed the fight and action scenes.

Everyone forgot the life way back home and enjoyed the moment.

There is always an end to everything, and their memorable stay was over, and all returned with good memories and happiness.
