“Travelling is the most powerful way of self-healing.”
“Travelling is the best way to start therapy and express your feelings.”

Purpose of Travelling
A person travels to various places to discover new destinations, learn about their culture, taste their food, and observe their way of living and celebrating festivals. Some even note down their experiences and later may write a travelogue.
Travelling for Pleasure
Some youngsters plan their trip well in advance — whether it’s an exciting city escape or a peaceful hilly retreat. They book hotels, prepare their sightseeing itineraries, pack their bags, and set off to the chosen destination. Some are fortunate enough to afford a trip each year to a new place.
Travelling to Religious Places
“Why don’t you go on a religious trip instead of sitting at home?”
At times, after hearing such words, elders plan a trip with their friends in groups to visit two or three religious places. Tour organizers arrange everything — from tickets and hotels to sightseeing. A 3-day, 4-night trip is a common option. Elderly travelers usually pack their medicines to ensure a safe journey, returning with happy memories.
Travel During Summer Holidays
Children get excited when parents plan trips during their summer vacations. Families often look for resorts, especially if they hold memberships in clubs like Club Mahindra or other resorts. Since summer is peak season, advance booking is essential to secure accommodation at desired destinations.
We were lucky to travel with our son’s family to Ooty and Coorg in the South, where we had a memorable time. In Ooty, we visited the Tea Factory and watched the tea-making process. The open spaces and greenery around the resort — something we miss in big cities — became a cherished memory.
In Coorg, we saw coffee plantations and felt as though we were wandering in Kerala.
We also visited Naukuchiatal Resort in Dehradun with our daughter’s family — a lovely place where the boat ride remains unforgettable. Later, we explored Kasauli near Shimla, a calm and serene town full of mesmerizing beauty.
“There are miles to go and much to learn…”
Indeed, for those fortunate enough to travel each year, India offers countless beautiful destinations to explore and understand its varied cultures and lifestyles.
Solo Travelling
Solo travel has become a growing trend. Many people now venture on journeys alone with just a backpack. They often say, “We want to discover ourselves and find inner peace.”
I have read many accounts from friends who embarked on solo travels and later published their experiences in books. It is truly inspiring — if one has the courage and health to travel miles, learn about new places, and share those experiences with people who may not have the chance to explore.
