Gen Z

#GenZ

Generation Z or popularly known as Gen Z are the ones born from 1997 to 2010. They are also referred to as iGen or Centennials.

The current one is Gen Alpha; they are born from 2011, basically any child who is below the age of 12.

Let me tell you more about Gen Z. Most of Gen Z children got their first smartphones before their 12th birthday. They have grew up with technology, internet and the social media which makes them stereotyped as tech-addicted and anti-social children.

They are comfortable communicating  through text messages and social media platforms. They spend as much time on their smartphones as older generations did while watching television. They are extremely tech-savvy and they have high standards for how they spend their time online.

Gen Z is known for being resourceful, self-reliant learners who value cultural diversity and give  priority on physical as well as mental health. They are also conservative when it comes to financial investments and planning. They don’t have any hesitation in voicing their opinion or sharing ideas.

The advance of digital technologies facilitated eagerness and a fresh wave of entrepreneurship, coerced Gen Z to start their own business ventures. They are the first generation who doesn’t need you for knowledge, they have the social media and the internet for that. They value self-reliance and freedom and are self-directed.

To Sum it up my point of view is Gen Z is our future and we do not have to agree with everything they say and do. I sincerely hope that some of us can certainly impart insight and wisdom on them, however the actual magic will happen when we both keep an open mindset and learn from each other.
