KAFAS – Was that too much of melodrama? #Kafasreview

Reviewer: Avni Rahul Katakkar

KAFAS ( meaning – Cage ) on SonyLiv , this alluring name was enough to grab the attention of the audience. Writer Sahil Sangha’s KAFAS stars Sharmaan Joshi , Mona Singh and Mikhail Gandhi.

The series begins slowly and sneeky, without getting us any clue about the plot. The story revolves around sexual abuse of a teen by a super star. Sounds predictable ? It is hypothetically predictable!

The plot gets cringy because of the shabby melodrama that the middle-class parents try to portray, as parents both Mona and Sharmaan look indecisive and misfit , the better word would be unappealing.

Sexual abuse of teens has been a fire issue currently, but I would say that you need a gripping plot to keep up with such sensitive issue , and KAFAS doesn’t do any justice to it.

As the story continues, the series becomes more cringy and way too long for the audience to finish up with the unwanted drama added to this societal issue.

Parenthood looks indifferent throughout the series.
And the series gets badly bashed because of the boring dialogues.

There could be much more to this issue, there could be a lot of interest put into the series by the writer and director, but it looked as if they had given up on it.

I would specially like to mention that Mikhail Gandhi has done a kudos acting job, his innocence and brilliance adds that little flair to th series.

There are many scenes with Mikhail which are hard hitting and could put you into deep thinking.

With many glitches and poo plot, KAFAS is a ‘watch at your own risk’.

You could certainly watch it one episode a day and let us know in the comments about your views.
