Navratri is not just about festive colors and celebration—it’s about awakening the Devi within.
On Day 1, we gave the theme “Empowered”, and here are some of the chosen poems and stories submitted by our community. Each one reflects strength, courage, and the spirit of Shakti.

She came out of silence,
not with swords,
but with unshaken words.
Scars turned into ornaments,
Tears became the river of strength.
All the ‘no’s she once muttered
became a loud ‘yes’ to herself.
She was not waiting to be rescued,
she had already ignited fire within.
Like Durga, she possessed many arms—
compassion, tenacity, courage, and grace.
The world perceived a woman,
but she knew—
She was Shakti incarnate,
unbreakable, unstoppable,
Forever sashakt !!

We should all stand empowered
with the strength within us, that is showered.
Stand up for our rights
and sometimes take things slightly light.
We should encourage others also,
Give them the courage not to feel low.
Feel the divine power within,
Stand with family in hours of thick and thin.
Empowered and united, we should stand
and safeguard our only land.
Act with a determined spirit,
always let our thoughts be lit.
With the power of Shakti
We should daily do bhakti.
Try to be enlightened and awakened,
always praise the divine for His involvement.

When the mind goes wild
With a feeling less than mild,
A warm hug, a loving glance
Is empowerment that makes one get up and dance!
A lamp that illuminates a dark room,
Empowers the whole space, removing doom!
A surprise invite, even a sudden torrential rain,
Empowers one to just jump out of pain!
A sign of remembrance, just a small gift,
Is sure to give a mood lift.
Letting go of ego, forgetting revenge,
Helps self-empowerment, saves the future cringe!

In Navratri’s glow, the Goddess gleams,
Igniting in us a thousand dreams.
Durga’s roar in muted throats,
Kali’s fire in courage she coats.
Strength in storms, resilience in rain,
She teaches triumph through silent pain.
Her flame flickers in every face,
Human hearts, her true abode, her place.
No pedestal, prison, or chains too high,
Her wings whisper—unbound, we fly.
Like Sita’s will, like Draupadi’s cry,
She walks with us, she won’t deny.
With lamps alight, with lion’s might,
Lotus of hope blooms through the night.
Empowered souls in spirit shine—
Fierce, eternal, wholly divine.

Oh Supreme entity of this cosmic galore!
The ultimate consciousness of my soul!

Oh, Devi serene! You’re my energy in every pore!
When I succumbed to pressures and pains,
Sentimental and sensitive strains,
Uplifting me from the abyss of stress and strain,
YOU steered me to horizons of stability refrain!
Your aura invoked a transition in my temperament.
Then, a timid and bashful woman, diffident,
Rose from the ashes of despair and distress confident.
I stand before you today—’Empowered’ and ebullient!

Humdrum of everyday life
Was taking a toll on my health.
Dark thoughts engulfed and pushed me to oblivion.
A chance meeting with the power of pen
Helped me discover my lost self.
Seeing my thoughts in a new light,
Emptying the stream of emotions,

A wonderful journey of self-discovery,
A perfect dialogue in solitude.
