Today was a day I will never forget. I was sitting in a corner of my room, feeling bored. I had nothing to do. Absolutely nothing. My brother had gone to school, my dad was in his usual meetings, and my mom had left for an important office meeting. I thought of calling my bestie, but then I remembered—she had gone to her boring summer camp.
Just then, I heard something talking to itself. I looked around the room, but there was no one. I checked outside the window—no one. Then suddenly, I felt like someone was speaking from above me. So I looked up… and saw the ceiling fan talking!
When it saw me staring, it screamed, “Ahhhhh!”
I said, “It’s okay, dear fan. Okay, fan—or whatever your name is. I’m not going to hurt you or anything.”
The fan replied, “Oh! I know. But I’m not supposed to be in your house. I’m supposed to be at my house.”
I blinked. “What do you mean, your house? And how are you even talking? What do you mean you’re not supposed to be here? Please tell me quickly—my brain is about to explode with questions!”
The fan explained that it was a magical fan. The shopkeeper had promised not to sell it to anyone. But the day my parents went to buy a fan, the owner was on holiday, and someone else was managing the shop. That person sold the magical fan by mistake!
“I can’t stay here,” said the fan. “I need to return home, please.”
I promised I would tell my parents at dinner. And I did.
At dinner, I explained everything, and my parents agreed to return the fan the next day. The fan was so happy and said, “You are a very nice girl. May you live a long life and succeed in everything you do.”
