In various cultures around the world drinking is predominantly a social activity. People drink to celebrate events, to socialise and even to relax. Alcohol can be part of a healthy lifestyle, if consumed in moderation accompanied with exercise and a balanced diet, however it can pose a health risk if it becomes an addiction.
In other words, alcohol per se isn’t ‘bad’, it depends on the person’s mindset who is drinking. If the person is drinking to cope up with issues in his life then it can pose a threat to his overall self. Drinking alcohol is not the solution to any problem. Binge drinking hinders the person’s ability to take the right decision, it could result in loss of coordination or could lead to depression or anxiety and memory loss among other complications. Long term alcohol abuse leads to obesity, cardiovascular diseases to name a few.
However, according to some studies, it has been pointed out that moderate drinking helps with de-stressing and improves productivity. People tend to loosen their inhibitions which helps in relaxing the mind.
Sharing some tips to drink alcohol wisely :
° Of the numerous alcoholic drinks, Vintage Wine is a safest drink to consume as it has less sugar content and reduces risk of heart diseases due to presence of antioxidants.
° Don’t get carried away with your drink. Set a limit.
° Stay hydrated as it will flush out the toxins from your body.
° Hangover could be avoided by munching on healthy titbits or food with high carbohydrates.
° Apart from this, exercising regularly is a must. Exercise is an effective influence that may even offset some of the damage done by alcohol consumption.
To sum it up, my Point of View is you have to drink responsibly by limiting the intake of alcohol, exercising regularly and having a well-balanced diet. There is a way to enjoy alcohol healthily while still working towards your fitness goals, you just have to strike the correct balance. Drink if u wish to, to have a good time but don’t let alcohol define you as a person or dictate your behaviour.
