Monsoon is most welcomed as it gives us respite from the summer heat. It gives us a chance to do various wonderful things such as smell the fragrance of rain-kissed ground, sipping on our favourite hot beverage and taking in the cool breeze.
With the monsoon season in full swing, you are probably looking for ways to stay dry and look chic when you are out and about.
Following is the list of clothes for fashion-enthusiast women who doesn’t want to lower their fashion sense just because it is monsoon.
1. Indian attire – Refrain from wearing salwar and patialas during the monsoon season. If you want to have a traditional look then choose a pair of Kurtis with leggings. You can even team it up with stoles or scarves for a complete look.
2. Shrugs – Shrugs are undeniably perfect during the monsoon. They appear quite stylish and trendy and goes with most of the tees and shirts. Kaftan-style shrugs and Kimono go well too.
3. Knee-length clothes : Choose knee length skirts, dresses or shorts to avoid mud stains on your pants. If you want to wear pants then see to it that you go for cropped ones that end somewhere about your calf.
4. Avoid Jeans – Jeans take a long time to dry so it is advised to go for palazzo or any wide-hemmed bottoms in the monsoon to maintain your freedom of movement.
5. Footwear – Opt for comfortable and safe footwear in monsoon. Heels and closed shoes must be avoided. Rubber-soled and fancy colour flip-flops are also good alternatives.
6. Opt for rain-friendly accessories – Leather-based footwear, purses, belts must be neatly packed away and should be brought out only when monsoon is gone.
7. Go for bright colours – An overcast day has enough shades of grey already so go for bright colours to grab the fashion spotlight and to lift up your spirits.
Always remember to make sure that you are comfortable in whatever you choose to wear. Laugh heartily, dance in the rain and remain cheerful. Enjoy rains the way you did in your childhood.
Happy Monsoon everyone!
