This month’s #Rhymeshots challenge inspired writers to explore the profound journey “From Darkness to Light.” With the prompt:
“If everything around seems dark,
Look again, you may be the light…”
our talented winners embraced the essence of resilience, hope, and self-discovery. Each piece beautifully reflects how even in the shadows, a spark of light can lead the way. Congratulations to our winners for shining brightly with their poetic brilliance!
From time immemorial, I light myself to dispel darkness
Burning to give light to others hasn’t dimmed my brightness
Each one of us can illuminate and brighten another heart
Having done so, you’ll feel joyous you’ve fulfilled your part
A tiny me, compared to the mighty sun, can also brighten a night
Whenever in life, if everything around seems dark
Look again you may be the light
Never ready to be snuffed, I put up a great fight
You get fooled by my tiny flicker and dying spark
I am a candle when extinguished, burning wicks yet leave a mark!

Wonder why you can’t see the way,
Fear and doubt your mind does sway,
Moonless night and weird sounds,
Make you sceptical and full of doubt,
Stay, fumble not for you carry the light
You are the torch- bearer making path bright,
In meandering hazardous path of life,
Leading through darkness, you are the guide,
There is light behind the mist that wraps,
A ray of hope behind desperation that saps,
Your inner self will guide throughout the life,
Enlightening mind will boldly face each strife.
A little bit of confidence is all you require,
Your own illumination will help turn the tide.

If everything around seems dark,
look again, you may be
the light to spark
this reflective experience
for your journey, for your essence
It is for you to be your own sunshine
awaken your strength for the glory pristine
all that is left is to channelize,
and to know where the source lies
you may see what others cannot
with sheer stability following your heart
It is to remember that your day is not taken
It is for you to find a new expression.

The rugged plight admonishes that, “Imminent tempest shall possess you soon.
The dark alley shall gulp your entity fastening all doors of the plenilune.”
But the spur within me reclaims life repetitively,
If I can’t forget to breathe, I can’t deny to survive.
I am too hellbent to crack every hard shell that clogs me to thrive.
The power of nimbus that coils my core,
Shall radiate divine aura to open new door.
I shall stand under the shower of paramount creation,
Trying to be the luminant dawn and deepest ocean under His salvation.

Meandering through life’s myriad tests,
Losing the taste of shore or sometimes riding the crest,
There’re umpteen times I lay burdened with regrets,
Rejection from the near ones is what I fret,
Tenebrous shadows chase my existence,
Though to my lacklustre life, I have respect immense,
In the game of light and shadows, I feel lost,
Crossed the threshold of pain at any cost,
When I realised that when everything around is dark,
You may be the light, a sharp contrast,
Life may importune you with thousands questions,
But inside your calm mind lies million solutions,
If only you see…
