“A daughter’s idol is her father.”
True. Any girl looks up to her father for inspiration, to learn the values of life, and to become like him when she grows up.
My father was a gentleman in every sense. He struggled a lot in those years to bring up his six children. He started working at a very young age, as that was the norm then.
He was the sole earning member, worked hard, and educated all of us. All were married off within his humble earnings.
During our childhood, I never saw him getting angry with us. He always stayed calm and made us understand that struggles can come at any time.
“You have to be calm, think of a solution, and move ahead.”
This always reminded me of him, especially when I went through many phases while bringing up my children. I had a difficult time.
Sadly, I lost him early. He was only 54 when he left us. A great void in my life.
But I had the second-best man beside me—my life partner—to help me sail through the struggles.
He is another calm and sweet person. When I get upset easily over small, trivial things, he always tells me, “Life is full of struggles; we have to hold each other tightly, stay strong, and move ahead.”
I am thankful to God for giving me two such men in my life. What I am today is because of their strong willpower— the inspiration I received from my father and the inspiration I continue to receive from my husband.
A supportive man in your life can motivate you to reach any height and help you fulfil your passions and shine in life.
I thank them for being in my life on this special Men’s Day.
