Season 1 and Season 2 of this Nagesh Kukunoor’s masterpiece were astounding. Their grip made me desperately wait for the next season, while I was praying that it shouldn’t disappoint like many other seasons of the umpteen series did.
Taking from Season-2 of City of Dreams streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, Season-3 begins with CM Poornima Gaikwad ( Priya Bapat ) eloped with the grief of her teenager son’s death.
Cop Wasim Khan ( Eijaz Khan ) finds her in Bangkok makes her return to Maharashtra politics. Meanwhile Ameya Gaikwad ( Atul Kulkarni) is turning the leaf by promising to be a better human. And it is fantabulous to watch Jagdish Gurav ( Sachin Pilgaonkar ) being the chameleon and playing all nasty games.
Overall City Of Dreams- Season 3 is a hard-core political thriller that screams about the political filth as well as some heart-wrenching sacrifices, from extramarital affairs to gender bias and motherhood issues, that would certainly give you shudders and rejoice both. Excellent direction by Nagesh Kukunoor, and stupendous acting by all the actors including Sushant Singh as Jagan Anna.
It represents the strength of Mumbai, the anguish to lead Mumbai and the importance of Mumbai in the nation’s politics is worth the watch.
A must watch because it would leave you stunned and shocked with all its twists and turns.
If you haven’t watched Season -1 & 2 of Nagesh Kukunoor’s City of Dreams…go watch right now!!
