2nd December’23
Today is not an ordinary day for me, it’s my birthday …another year older and more wiser than the last year. I am getting older but I think just like wine I’m getting better and finer as the years go by.
Having said this, I generally do not wait for a specific day to turn over a new leaf. If I wish to, I change course whenever I want. If I believe in something truly then I will formulate ways to pursue it. After all, we are our own ‘masters‘ to do and undo whatever our tiny heart’s desire.
I have a vision this year too of what I plan to do. But sometimes the goals I create for myself that I can regulate don’t always work the way I think they will, which can get quite annoying. In fact, I had planned to have a complete draft of a novel completed and published by this year end. Yeah, I am writing another book but have encountered minor hiccups. So for now, I am patiently waiting for things to resolve.
Sometimes, I am glad for the lull these quiet moments bring. It’s good to take a little pause, just before turning over a new leaf.
That is why I like to combine the meaning of a new leaf with happiness.
A new leaf could also mean refreshing our lifestyles. Ask yourself, what would you like to do differently? Exercise more often and lead a more balanced lifestyle? Not to dye and let your hair turn grey? Satisfy your curiosity? Try adventure sports or involve yourself in a charity?
What is it that you have always wanted to do but never had the courage to? Do something today that you have never done or you will live out the rest of your life with a lot of ‘what ifs‘.
Turning over a new leaf in just one area of your life will create a feeling of significance, pleasure and satisfaction to your soul.
Try making a donation to the causes you care about instead of just posting about it on social media. Sahayak Hath is one such trustworthy NGO who works for the betterment of single mothers and children. DM me if you want to know more about this organization.
As we grow old, it’s inevitable to lose contact with some people. This year, I wish to reconnect with friends I have not met in a long time.
I look forward to clicking more beautiful photos, eating healthy and delicious food, more good times to being more content and meeting more fabulous people. I hope to continue writing, sharing my stories with all of you to enjoy, learn and be inspired.
On this note, wishing myself a splendid birthday full of God’s, family and my friends awesome wishes.
PS : A special Thank you to the Almighty for bestowing me with good genes. I do not even look my age.
