How to Take Care of Your Skin, Mind, and Body in May Heat – 5 Natural Self-Care Habits

Relaxing portrait of a woman in a milk bath with citrus slices, embodying freshness and self-care.

“The month of May and oh! How hot it is!”

Every year, we wonder how we’re going to beat the heat of May. But whether you worry or not, May will come after April 😂 — so why not be prepared instead of waiting till the last moment?

Cheer up and follow these 5 self-care habits:

1. Help from Fruits – Citrus Magic!

May brings plenty of oranges. Don’t throw the peels away — dry them in the sun and grind them coarsely. Store in an airtight container. Mix some powder with milk and apply it as a scrub on your face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes, enjoy some music, and then wash off with cold water. Voila! A fresh, glowing face!

Natural remedies are always your best friend in summer.

2. Enjoy Waking Up Early

Wake up by 5 or 6 a.m. to feel fresh all day.

Start with splashing cold water on your face — it’s refreshing! Do some yoga or breathing exercises. Get as much done before the sun starts blazing.

Bathing under a cool shower is bliss — but conserve water. A second quick bath in the evening can help you sleep better.

3. Eat Right to Beat the Heat

What you eat affects how you feel.

Add plenty of fluids — fresh juices, buttermilk, and water. Enjoy cooling foods like cucumber and kakdi salads. These fill you up and keep your body and mind calm.

Avoid fried and oily foods — they dry your skin. And skip aerated drinks; water is your best friend in May!

4. Mental Calmness

Relax your mind. Read a good book, listen to calming music, spend time with loved ones, laugh together. It’s the best medicine to manage summer stress.

5. The Power of Prayer

Take a moment each day to thank the Lord for the roof over your head.

Think of those braving the sun without shelter. Spread awareness about self-care — a small act of gratitude and responsibility can go a long way.

Remember:
Self-care is in your hands.

Enjoy the month of May — wisely, lightly, and with grace.
Any neglect, and you’ll face the wrath of the Sun Lord ☀️

Good luck to all of us.
