Hello, May! Manifest, Mood Boards and Mini Milestones
“Manifest – to show emotion outwardly.”
Mental illness manifests in one way or another. A person experiencing mental stress or emotional trauma may express their feelings differently.
They might:
- Show anger suddenly over minor things
- Hurt themselves
- Cry out of the blue
Mood swings are common, yet people around often fail to understand them.
Such individuals need medical support — psychiatric treatment. There is absolutely no shame in consulting a doctor trained to care for mental health. Just like we consult a physician for physical ailments, mental troubles too deserve timely attention.
Bottled-up emotions can create major issues — not only for the person suffering but also for those around them.
Please never neglect your mental well-being.
A stitch in time saves nine.
My Mini Milestones this May:
As I approach three-quarters of a century next month, I have set some milestones for myself:
- I want to stay fit, so I practice regular yoga, breathing exercises, and light workouts.
- I wake up at 5 am and enjoy my ‘me time.’ I listen to devotional songs with a cup of hot water.
- I meditate for 10 minutes.
- I make tea and check WhatsApp messages from friends and family.
- I write quotes or thoughts on topics that touch my heart.
- I prepare breakfast, which I always plan the night before — I dislike last-minute stress.
- I read or listen to news headlines — that’s enough for me.
- If there’s an interesting topic on any platform, I write on it.
Listening to old melodies on Vividh Bharati sets my mood while I work in the kitchen — it truly lifts my spirits.
My Dreams:
I’ve long wished to write stories for children. As a teacher, I’ve seen 8-year-olds struggle to cope with life, and I wish to dedicate these stories to them.
I pray to the Lord to let me fulfil this wish before I turn 75. With His grace and my determination, I hope to get them published. I believe some of my well-wishers will pray for this dream too.
If I succeed, I’ll feel proud to have done something good and meaningful in life.
In Service and Spirit:
I’m an active member of the Spectrum Awareness Group, spreading awareness and promoting acceptance for the unique individuals among us.
I want to do as much good as possible before I leave this world. I pray to the Lord for good health and peace.
I dream of a world where:
- All children attend school
- All women are self-reliant
- My children and grandchildren shine in life
- Peace prevails in the world
We are both elderly now. We’ve seen enough. We only hope to see a world filled with harmony.
These are my May milestones.
