In a world stretched thin for resources and under the threat of global biodiversity loss and climate change, our lifestyle decisions are putting the planet at risk.
Sustainable living means understanding how our lifestyle choices impact the world around us and finding ways for everyone to live better and lighter.
There’s a lot we can do to “choose wild” and reduce our environmental footprint to leave more room for wild animals and plants. Our actions matter.
Talking about me as an individual on a personal front I have stopped asking for plastic bags from vegetable vendors & grocery stores.
I carry my cotton bag stitched by my local tailor. In tiffins, no more foil paper or containers. I wrap roti in a muslin or cotton small napkins.
I avoid storing food in plastic containers & use steel or steel-insulated ones.
If I am attending school meetings or any outings, we use public transport or share our rides with friends or others staying close by.
My craving to have distinct options for clothes goes heavily on pockets, this hilariously my husband taught me to ask myself before billing, “ Do you need this?”Think twice!!
And this trick actually works.
So ditched fast fashion for breathable & only mandatory clothes.
Nowadays, organic is too much in sensation but I too consider consuming fruits and vegetables which are locally grown over imported ones.
These are some routine ideas which we can easily uphold & teach the next era to value in the same way.
A sustainable life is an ideal way of adapting to the available resources & not pushing them to extinction.
