This too shall pass

Author: Payel Biswas

At times when we feel that life is progressing on the wrong track, we resent everyone in our vicinity who utters the same version of that old platitude “Time heals everything”, for our patience with ourselves has taken a back seat and we, very conveniently, tend to believe that time doesn’t always offer a linear healing process.

Words of wisdom occasionally preached to us seem hollow and of minimal substance, when our life is struggling through phases of unprecedented crisis. Indeed, life can be cruel to us but these words are not entirely meant to be discarded. When the heart feels heavy and the world seems to be putting its weight atop your shoulders, sit with yourself. When your stomach makes twists and turns, sit with the feelings brewing deep inside you. Sit with the incomprehensible emotions and thoughts that bury your mind. It’s not necessary to make a sense out of them, you do not need to push yourself to work on them. You don’t need to solve any feeling or figure out any solution for them, you just need to give yourself enough room and space to breathe.

Trust yourself first. It may sound simple yet it could be the most difficult thing to achieve, when life’s complexities make your life distressing. Revolve yourself around things and people that imparts positivity in you. Faith is what you need to regain, in yourself, because no other driving force can keep you moving through the journey called “Life”.

Remember, life’s uncertain yet grand design for you could make you stronger and better than your current version of yourself.
