In recent times, I haven’t come across movies which I would recommend, however I have not one but two web series recommendations to suggest.
1. Only Murders in the Building – Disney HotStar.
Genre – Comedy-Thriller Series – 3 Seasons
Cast – Steve Martin, Selena Gomez and Martin Short.
Overview – The above mentioned trio play the in-house detectives who solve murders that take place in the building they reside in.
Solving murders is not their profession but they have an interest in creating crime podcasts and are absolutely obsessed with crime. This series is a perfect balance between comedy and mystery.
We all are aware of amazing acting skills and comic timing of Steve Martin and Martin Short, for me the surprise package was Selena Gomez. Her intriguing character has blended quite effortlessly. I have been a huge fan of her songs and now of her acting skills too. They are the lovable trio.
‘OMITB‘ has a good sense of humor with the right dose of sarcasm and is easy to watch with family.
2. Masaba Masaba – Netflix
Genre – Drama(Biographic) – 2 seasons
Cast – Neena and Masaba Gupta
Overview – Real life mom-daughter duo Neena and Masaba Gupta play versions of themselves in this fun-loving, lively and fictional peek into their lives in film and fashion industry.
The series is a scripted version of the life of Masaba featuring her family, her love life and her career as a fashion designer.
I absolutely loved watching the fact how Masaba portrays herself as flawed and her constant struggle to find balance which represents actual human scenario.
Masaba and her show have grown up quite a lot in the second season as it gets more stylish with better music, slicker and glossier visuals.
Masaba Masaba offers hours of Masaba and Neena Gupta’s excellent performances.
To sum it up, watch the above mentioned series. They are pure entertainment in their respective genres. You won’t be disappointed at all.
